A message from our CEO.

“Tough times never last but tough people do”

We still seem to be in the midst of tough times and we can’t help but wonder how long they will last.  I am proud to work for an organization made up of tough people who are determined to preserve the past to make a better future. Of course, daily we are inspired by the men and women who have served our country and the stories of overcoming hardships that make what we are going through seem small.

The Chennault Aviation & Military Museum is like all small businesses today facing challenges.  We have worked very hard to take advantage of the grant programs that have become available. We were able to receive funding through the Payroll Protection Program, funding from the Louisiana Culture Care Fund grant provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities and administered by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, and the Economic Injury Disaster loan. We have applied for the HartBeat of Mainstreet Grant and hopefully we will be successful.

These grants have certainly helped to sustain us through these past few months but our mainstay is the many members and corporate members who have joined us because they believe in our mission to “Preserve, Promote and Honor Aviation and Military History”. They also believe in the work that we do in support of our veterans. We thank you all for you support and we especially thank the ones who have realized our challenges and increased their membership or sent in an extra donation.

Tough times don’t last and it is not the situation but how we handle the situation that really matters. We have worked for 20 years to give the veterans and community a museum to be proud of. These are not the first tough times we have been through but that is another whole letter. Better yet please stop by the museum or visit our website and you too can be inspired by all of the “tough” people that inspire us everyday.
